Young Filmmakers Spark the Horizons

Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey with the intention of supporting the film projects of film school students, the 7th edition of the Filmmakers of Tomorrow project has received a record-breaking number of submissions this year.

245 projects were submitted to vie for the awards for the 2010 edition of the project, marking a record in the 7 year history of the activity. The first and only activity in Turkey that aims to extend support to the film school students’ projects, The main jury of the project who’ll scrutinize the submissions to elect the winners is comprised of Filmmaker Reha Erdem, Producer Tolga Esmer, Actress Demet Evgar, film critic Ceylan Özçelik, film critic and writer Burçak Evren, Filmmaker Muzaffer Hiçdurmaz and TURSAK President Engin Yiğitgil.

To be hosted by celebrated actress Cansu Dere, the Awards Ceremony of the Filmmakers of Tomorrow will reveal the 20 projects elected by the jury to be found deserving of the 2500 TL award.

TURSAK and Canon will be presenting the annual “Encouragement Awards” to the top three degree winners. The first degree winner will be awarded a Canon XHA1s camcorder while the second degree winner will receive a computer and the third degree winner will be presented a camera.
